Jacques Travers, French Teacher, 62
Jacques Travers, an instructor of French at Brooklyn College and founder of a Roman Catholic house for the homeless, died of cancer of the esophagus Nov. 23 in Elbeuf, France. He was 62 years old and lived in Brooklyn.
In 1977, he founded the Arthur Sheehan House of Hospitality, an establishment for the homeless.
He is survived by five sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service is to be held at 2 P.M. Dec. 19 at St. Thomas Aquinas of Ninth Street in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn.
