Jacques was always able to capture the essence of a moment with so few lines…This is a very subdued palette, but a charming scene.

Jacques was absolutely crazy about Dylan. I don’t think he had ever been really close to a new baby from the beginning. Jacques visited me in the hospital, and from the first moment, he called Dylan “Didi”. He was amazed…besotted ..with this adorable creature. You would hear him say, “Didi” with the greatest joy and love. Even with this wonderful sketch to celebrate Dylan’s 16th birthday, Dylan was still “Didi”.

Jacques and I used to take Dylan for walks in Prospect Park very often. This is a sweet recollection of a lovely spring day.

Jacques lived very close to Prospect Park and was very attached to it. When “big things” needed to be discussed, Prospect Park was the default environment to walk and talk.

This was done in oil pastel, a favorite medium for Jacques to work in.
